This is my personal story.

I got my first hands on experience in dementia caring for my loved one who had vascular dementia.

I was offered pay through respite to care for my loved one.

Wow, getting paid to care for my loved one. My first job healthcare job!

She was also mute and deaf. I cared for her 8 years before she passed away with me holding her hands.

She sufferedd several strokes on the brain and had seizures.

Learning to communicate was a big issue because she couldn't talk or hear.

I manage to learn how to effectively know her needs and wants.

She declined was bed bound, total care, puree diet turned into just thicken liquids. I traveled to her appointments.

Soon my mother and I  were awarded full custody of all affairs for her.

Caring for her gave me the hands on knowledge to be a expert in the dementia and caregiving workforce.

I applied for a caregiving job at a home care agency and got hired on the spot.

My personal experience took me far. I worked in facilities, mental facilities, memory care, private homes, etc.

I wanted to help caregivers who were struggling on understanding dementia patients. So I got all types of certifications.

I opened Serenity Alzheimer's & Dementia Training LLC to educate and certify caregivers so they can make more money and feel confident in caregiving for dementia patients and families.
